We represent landlords and tenants in residential and commercial disputes in St. Louis City and St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson and Lincoln counties. Eviction cases move quickly, so the earlier you call, the more options you have, whether you are filing or have just been served.

For landlords

  • Rent and possession and unlawful detainer suits
  • Notices to quit and lease termination
  • Drafting and reviewing residential and commercial leases
  • Security deposit accounting
  • Collecting money judgments after possession is returned

Missouri does not allow self-help evictions. Changing the locks or shutting off utilities to force a tenant out can expose a landlord to liability (RSMo 441.233). We take your case through the court process the right way.

For tenants

  • Defending eviction and rent and possession suits
  • Lockouts and utility shutoffs
  • Security deposit claims. A landlord must return the deposit, or itemize the deductions, within 30 days after the tenancy ends, and wrongful withholding can cost the landlord twice the amount withheld (RSMo 535.300).
  • Lease disputes and early termination

Commercial leases

For business owners and property owners, we handle lease negotiation, defaults, personal guaranties, holdover tenants, and disputes over rent, repairs and common-area charges.
